How might youth partner with adults to improve the safety of Brattleboro and its downtown? What do young people require to stay in the area and build a life in southern Vermont? What actions can we all take, individually and as a community, to reach these goals? Our Brattleboro Area Youth Council tackled all of the above at a special event, led by youth aged 12 to 18, attended by around 70 people, including local leaders, lawmakers, town planners, selectboard and school board members, nonprofits and senior members of police and fire squads.
